A small group of Sudanese protested at Downing St in solidarity with the continuing protests in Sudan against the military coup. They say the media are under-reporting the illegal military coup which is equivalent to supporting the dictatorship and that silence kills people.

An emergency protest following the recent tragic drownings in the English Channel called by Care4Calais and Stand Up To Racism called for safe and legal routes for refugees to come to the UK. A rally in Gerrard St at the heart of London's Chinatown called for a halt to the rise of racial abuse and violence and the threat of new Cold War against China. Speakers included a Chinese man who had suffered a violent racial attack, Chinese community organisers and others. Hong Kong Freedom activists stood facing them on the opposite side of the street and shouted and handed out calendars to oppose the anti-racism rally.

Global Women’s Strike and Indian Workers Association at India House celebrate the victory by Indian farmers after President Modi announced last week he will repeal his hated Farm Laws. They would have given agribusinesses a tight hold on how crops were grown and what people could eat, with millions starving. The event celebrates those who have died in this struggle, and those imprisoned, disabled, beaten, and raped by police and Modi’s thugs.

On the day it was announced that there were 63,000 early deaths last winter pensioners protested at Parliament calling for action over the roughly 10,000 of these caused by pensioners too poor to heat their homes adequately. They marched to Downing St to hand in a letter calling for a programme to insulate homes, increase the winter fuel allowance and curb on the excessive profits of fuel companies.

CAIWU Cleaners at Facebook protest with samba and speakers against victimisation and excessive workload after employer Churchill Cleaning more than doubled the number of floors without providing extra resources and sacked a worker for trade union activities. Facebook say it is a matter for Churchill and facilities contractor JLL and has declined to comment on the cleaners' request to be directly employed. The protest was supported by other trade unionists including a group of RMT Train Cleaners.

A rally opposite Parliament showed support for the Down Syndrome Bill which passed its second reading today. The bill introduced to Parliament by Liam Fox MP has received government support and is likely to pass through the stages needed for it to become law. It will force education, health and local authorities to take people with Down Syndrome into account when providing education, health and care services.

Protesters met at the Royal Courts of Justice and marched in solidarity with the 'Highway 9' peaceful protesters from Insulate Britain jailed for protesting on the roads who broke an injunction in an attempt to force the government to insulate homes as a vital contribution to combating climate change. They marched to Lambeth Bridge stopping at intervals for statements from the jailed protesters to be read, and then sat down blocking the bridge.

The National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony organised by the White Poppy for Peace Campaign in Tavistock Square confronts the injustices of war, remembers all its victims, military and civilian, and stands for peace. After speakers from Iraq Body Count and a Palestinian activist talking about living under constant threat in Jerusalem and Gaaza there was a 2 minute silence before wreaths and white poppies were laid at the memorial to conscientious objectors.

A protest by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and others outside the Cuban Embassy calls on the US government to end its 60 years of blockade and aggression against Cuba, and to stop financing groups to destabilise Cuba. The noisy protest filled the pavement outside the embassy, with police protecting a small group from the Facebook group Archipielago who had come to face them and tried with little success to drown out the speakers. A few others stood on the opposite side of the road in a peaceful protest.

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan hold a really in Trafalgar Square calling on people to oppose the Taliban which they describe as a barbaric terrorist organisation. They say if the Taliban government is recognised internationally they will travel the world and set up terrorist bases and called on action to save Afghan children and get them and others out of the country.

Extinction Rebellion take action in London as COP26 failed to take actions needed to avert climate catastrophe. They met in Lincolns Inn Fields for a march which took them to protest peacefully at the Lord Mayor's Show procession, pointing out the guilt of the City of London in financing the exploitation and dirty fuels that have led to the problem. They marched past the crowds lining Fleet Street calling for climate justice as the official procession went past in the opposite direction. Later when they tried to stop the procession on its way back to the City, police forced them to the side of the road.

Protesters in Parliament Square called for the release of political leaders including Aung San Suu Kyi and others subjected to arbitrary arrest following the military coup in Myanmar at the start of February. The condemned recent military attacks in the north-west Chin state where soldiers have burnt many houses, churches and other buildings. They demanded action by the UN including a legally binding arms embargo and left the square to march towards Downing St.
