my london diary

may 2001

i spent most of may this year watching women playing cricket, or training for cricket.

despite not being a sporty sort of person i rather enjoyed this, because they were nice people to be with and to photograph.

this was a project for the 'Year of the Artist' involving Shepperton Ladies Cricket Club and funding from Spelthorne Borough Council and South East Arts.

The 'Year' finished at the end of May, and some of my work was shown locally and will also be used to help promote the game and the club.

more pictures coming soon

i also visited Bermondsey again, photographing some of the buildings and people on the street.

on the bank holiday monday i went to new addington with paul baldesare to photograph their carnival. paul has been photographing english carnivals for around ten years, producing some fine work.
