Reinstate the Sotheby's 4

New Bond St, London. Thu 16 Jul 2015

The protesters met at Oxford Circusand plastic horns were handed out

as well as United Voices of the World flags

Percy, one of the 4 workers sacked by Sotheby's for taking part in a protest. Tonight's protest was planned with a party theme

and a woman has a fake champagne bottle and the message 'Sotheby's - We are too filthy rich to pay our cleaners a living wage.

as well as a bag of £20 notes (or at least deliberately poor copies of them) which she shows to Petross Elia, UVW General Secretary

When the protesters reached Sotheby's they were stopped by police

who wouldn't allow them to go to the pavement outside Sotheby's

There was no good reason to stop them. Sotheby's was all closed up for their staff's Summer party

But the police would not let them go near

Protesters argued with police that they had a right to protest

and stood on the road, refusing to move across to the other side

More polilce came

and surrounded most of the protesters

Ian Bone of Class War on the road in front of the closed Sotheby's and the barriers along the pavement

Police linked arms and began to push the protesters to the other side of the road

Petross Elia keeps protesting that they have the right to protest, but police are not listening

Ian Bone keeps his megaphone on as a siren

and Class War are still in the middle of the road with there banner, but police soon forced them across the road too
