DPAC Parliament Square Budget Day protest

Parliament Square, London. Wed 8 Jul 2015

The huge banner stops traffic in front of the Houses of Parliament and down Bridge St

The small banner says 'End Financial Abuse against Humanity'

A rally begins on the road in Parliament Square

Candy Udwin, sacked by the National Gallery for her work there as PCS rep

Candy holds the megaphone for Paula Peters to speak

Police start to persuade protesters to leave the roadway

then more arrive and use a little force to clear the road

Police try to grab the large banner and DPAC members move wheelchaits to try and block them

Police push the protesters on to the pavement

Four mounted police watch as police clear the road

Protesters in wheelchairs are warned they may be arrested if they continue to block the road

and police did arrest Andy Greene, then couldn't work out what to do with him and his mobility scooter

Terry and Sam argue with police. Terry was arrested

Another protester is arrested and dragged away by police

Half an hour or so later, a large van arrived which police had hired to transport Andy Greene and his scooter.
Pensioner Terry Hutt was also taken away in this

Other DPAC wheelchair users watched from the pavement

The van had large clean windows to photograph through as Andy's scooter was fixed in place

Terry shows me his poster as I take photographs

Sam attempts to block the van, but it reversed away.
