The UVW were meeting opposite Tooting Broadway station where Petros
Elia was being interviewed for a video
It was a protest with a party theme - and lots of balloons.
Petros
One of the striking secuirty guards is interviewed
We wait for some late-comers
Writing slogans on some of the balloons
Finally it's time to go and Petros explains what the protesters will
try and do
and they set off
behind the banner
'End The Abuse Of BAME Workers - Security Guards Silent No More'
They walk into St George's Hospital - there are few secuirty guards
working and they cannot stop the crowd
and go down to the end of the wide corridor
where Petros explains to everyone around why they have come to protest,
Security Guards deserve decent conditions of service - and should
be employed by the hospital and not by
contractors. Propsective students are going into the meeting through
the door at the end
Jenner looks down on the protesters
Police officers arrive and talk with Petros
he persuades them to let the protest continue promising it will leave
the building without trouble shortly
and the protesters dance to some loud music
