Resisting State Violence - Brazil to India

Brazilian Embassy, London. Sat 25 Jan 2020

People were standing outside the Brazilian Embassy

 in a large half-circle

and there were a number of speakers about the situation in countries including Brazil, Chile, Iraq, Iran and India

Posters called on Twitter to stop supporting fascists and to end fascism world-wide

 Kurdish Antifa Enternasyonal banner

 Smash Brahminical Patriarchy.

The ruling Indian BJP is the party of the Hindu fascist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS.

Above the door of the Brazilian Embassy

 People sing a revolutionary song

'From Brasil to India End Fascism Worldwide!'

A speaker points to two slogans from Iran which the regime there find threatening

A German left-wing speaker talks about fascism internationally and the need to unite to defeat it

 An Indian academic speaks

People perform the Chilean Anti-rape song

and point saying 'The Rapist is You!'

And then people start to march towards Downing St for the rally against fascism in India

They wait for everyone to catch up. The main banner reads:

We stand in solidarity with:

  • AMU, JMI, JN; victims of police brutality;

  • Persecuted minorities - Trans Folx, Muslims

  • The Women of Shaheen Bagh

  • People of Assam & People of Kashmir

Persecuted minorities,
