Staines Moor

Staines, Middlesex. Mon 26 Aug 2019

There are cows and horses grazing on the southern part of Staines Moor

and some small groups of trees as well as reeds

There are more trees around the edges of the moor, but just a few small groups by the Colne

We get closer to the grazing herd - and a swan in the river

Horses as well as cows graze on the moor

Bullocks grazing at the edge of the reeds by the river

and this is the bridge we need to cross to get back to Staines

a horse comes up to the bridge, perhaps hoping we have brought something to feed it

and a bullock begins to wade across the river

the horse goes for a drink

while another is in the river eating reeds

Waiting hopefull while we cross - but is disappointed

I stop on the bridge to watch the horse feeding

and take far too many pictures

We cross and walk away, leaving the horse still waiting

We go through the bridge under the bypass and along the footpath which crosses the railway to go beside
the Wraysbury River (aka Wyradisbury RIver). The rail company want to close the crossing and have closed
two others in the area, both on useful walking routes.

The Wraysbury River joins the Colne here. The Two Rivers pub has now closed

but further down the street is the London Stone. And for rather cheaper real ales there is a Wetherspoons a

few yards further on. But we are keen to get back home.
