North Woolwich Royal Docks & the Thames

North Woolwich, London. Thu 1 Aug 2019

One of the few remaining buildings in the area is the Gallions Hotel

 now restored.

On the waterside are expensive flats

A path leads around by the dock side

One former dock building remains on Albert Dock Basin

Royal Albert Dock Basin Impounding Station - electric pumps to raise the water level in the docks. 1911

 and under the bridge

further along Albert Dock is East London University student residences

I go up ont the bridge and walk back towards North Woolwich

South of Albert Dock basin is Corbyn's yard

From the other side of the road I look west along the Royal docks

Then come back to look eastwards towards King George V entrance lock

The entrance lock to King George V is huge and could accomodate some very large ships

and King George V Dock is a vast expanse of water
