Barriers around the BBC stopped the protesters moving closer
There was a large crowd with quite a few wearing red berets
The barriers stopped them entering the BBC plaza
though a few managed to get past these
and soon the barriers were pushed aside and we all walked into the
plaza and stopped just short of the main doors
'Justice for Northern Ireland Veterans'
'Our veterans fought for you. Our veterans died for you, Now it's
your chance to fight for us'
There was some extremely loud chanting
calling for justice for the veterans
and then a piper walked to the front of the crowd
followed by a man who turned out to be a UKIP candidate for the European
elections, Freddy Varcha.
He began to speak, but some of the organisers
rushed forward to stop him, saying 'No Politics!' and he was hustled
away.
The protest continued noisily
and I made my way out.
