Disabled protest against Facebook

Facebook HQ, London. Thu 25 Apr 2019

Paula Peters of DPAC sits outside the Facebook HQ in Rathbone Square

along with other protesters from DPAC

 including Andy Greene

A sign in a window above 'What Would You Do IF You Weren't Afgraid?

Security stand outside the entrance to Facebooki's offices

People take leaflets as they go past the picket

 'Give Facebook the Finger...'

 'Give Facebook the FInger'

Paula Peters speaks about why this protest is taking place - and they play the phone call

A journalist stops to talk with the protesters

 'Disabled Lives Matter'

Paula plays the phonecall to Facebook whihc says they discriminate against pictures of disabled people because

"some people find it disturbing to see pictures of disabled people".

I leave when a woman comes out to talk with the protesters, saying she is the security officer, She does not want to be photographed,

and tells the protesters that a member of Facebook staff will come out to speak with them only if they promise that the meeting will

not be photographed or recorded in any way. I decide I don't want to prejudice the event and that I've taken enough pictures and so

I leave. I want to get home for dinner anyway!
