Extinction Rebellion at Shell
Shell South Bank, London. Mon 15 Apr 2019
Activists have daubed the Shell HQ with spray-chalk slogans. This
is a 'CO2 Crime Scene'
Shell are committing Ecocide, exploring for, promoting and selling
fossil fuels which have caused huge amounts
of CO2 to be released. We need to move urgently away from fossil fuels,
and Shell and other oil and coal companies
lobby governments here and around the world to enable them to continue
their polluting activities
Shell also are responsible for human rights abuses in countries where
they extract oil - such as Nigeria where
they were behind the "unlawful killings, rape, torture, the burning
of villages" by the Nigerian military against
community protests, including the murder of 9 Ogoni men, including
writer and activist Ken Saro-Wiwa.
'Shell Kills'
'Ecocide'. The glass of the door was smashed deliberately to try to
ensure that the activists get a trial before a jury where they hope to be
able to raise
the issues which led them to protest against Shell.
