A campaigner with a stop sign halts traffic coming to Parliament Square
from Westminster Bridge
and a taxi tries to push through the road block but people don't let
it
and tell him to back off
More people join the road block, and a drummer
Police try to persuade the road block on Parliament St to move. An
officer tells them they are obstructing the highway. That's our aim they
tell him.
'Children of the Revolution ' 'We're running out of time'
People hold photographs showing flood victims around the world. Global
warming is causing climate chaos
A woman in black in the funeral march holds large red paper flowers
A man in black carries a skeleton on his shoulders
Pall bearers carry the coffin, decorated with bees and birds that
are being killed
'Government Must Declare Climate Emergency'
The coffin is followed by a group in red, representing the blood of
species that have become extinct, and
those under threat, including the human speices...
More skeletons
and the blood...
Dodos warn 'You're Nexty Human' and 'DODON'T just sit there - Do something'
The precession was led New Orleans style by a jazz band
Back at the road block...
and in the middle of the square the RCG tell us 'Capitalism is Extinction
- Socialism is Survival'
The coffin is carried into the centre of Parliament Square
and the giant bees follow
Pallbearers carry the coffin into the middle of a large circle, and
there is a respectful silence and a short speech
before people are encouraged to express themselves
and to form into groups for some improvised expression
Another road block 'This is an emergency' gets treated to a poem from
a man with a dinosaur
'Respect Yo' Mama' the earth
