Police formed a line to stop the marchers at the bottom of the Mall
But soon the protesters were running around towards the palace
and the climbed onto the Victoria Monument
with some climbing up it
The organisers of the protest made speeches to the crowd below
'We Want Change'
They announced they were going back to Parliament Square.
People took several routes down from the monument to make their way
back to Parliament Square
I took the shortest route - which wasn't popular with the protesters
- and arrived before most of them
Some didn't come into the square but went across Westminster Bridge
or sat down on it. Others went on and I went with them to Stamford St before
leaving and going to have lunch.
