I think this is the Grinding Mill
The Paint Mill
a large circular stone trough
The Lower Pond - ponds were needed to ensure a constant supply of
water to the mills below
Looking down from the waterfall out of the Lower Pond - my feet at

Cottages beside the stream leading between the Middle Pond and the
Lower Pond
Water flows out of the Middle Pond. The Upper Pond is no longer a
pond but a boggy area in the woods.
The Middle Pond was made in the 1780s, but had become silted and isn't
shown on OS maps of the area. It was reinstated in 2014.
These stepping stones are the remains of an earlier bridge here
The Upper Pond was in an area now woodland
The Middle Pond, taken as I walked down the valley
I kept to the road , mainly to move faster, except for one short steep
path that cuts off a long detour
and was soon back at the Lower Bleach Mill
and then at Tansley Wood Mills
The chimney has gone and the building is part derelict
but parts are still in use
I took the road at right, leading down towards Matlock
