Extinction Rebellion Funeral Procession

Whitehall & The Mall, London. Sat 24 Nov 2018

The pall-bearers ease the coffin back from the police and walk with it out of the centre of Parliament Square

and are followed by a crowd as the go to the road in front of the Houses of Parliament

Roger Hallam, one of the founders of XR, talks with them

People bring the banners and line up behind the coffin

Two protesters with white-painted brances to represent coral, rapidly being lost as seas warm

Christian Climate Action are ending their road block and reading a liturgy

It takes some time to organise everyone for the march

But finally it moves off up Parliament St and into Whitehall with Gail Bradbrook walking in front of the main banner

At the very front are the drummers accompanying the coffin

and everyon halts in front of Downing St for a noisy protest

A familar face with an extra head... Chris Knight

People sat down in Whitehall for a short silent protest

and then Gail asked them to get up and move on....

A campaigner gets out a spray can and starts to write on the monument to The Women of World War Two

but is interupted by a police information gatherer before he can finish...

and arrested for causing criminal damage. Some other protesters tried to clean the memorial, but with little success.
