Fridays for Future - act on climate change
Parliament Square, London, UK. Fri 26 Oct 2018
#FridaysforFuture is a global movement which was prompted by the action
of Swedish 15yr old Greta Thunberg
who instead of going back to school at the end of August sat down
in front of the Swedish parliament to start
the 'School Strike for Climate.
Other groups, including this one in London are holding weekly protests
each Friday in solidarity.
Elsie Luna who produces The Politics Podcast for Young People in the
UK has a warning for Angela Merkel - I see your dirty coal
The GLA security in the square told them they could not protest where
they were but could go to the pavement at the front which is not owned by
GLA
The weekly protest is supported by Extinction Rebellion
This was the first protest and the organisers hope it will grow week by
week.
