Michael Groce, poet, community worker and Green Party candidate as councillor in Brixton, holds a poster 'Yes, It's Racist'

The 1985 Brixton riots began after police shot and seriously wounded his mother, putting her in hospital for a year

Later they paid her over £500,000 in damages without admitting any liability
