Most who spoke had been prisoners inside Yarl's Wood or other detention
centres
and a phone link liet some of the women inside speak so we could all
hear them
People stood well back on the hill to get a view over the solid part
of the fence
and the speakers stood on a ladder so they could be seen by some of
those inside, as well as heard
Though the higher ladders wobbled a bit. Mabel was able to speak to
many she had known during her three years inside

It was hot in the sun and I got tired. The protest was still continuing
as I got on my bike to ride back to Bedford station.
