Legal right to use cannabis

Parliament Square, London. Fri 6 Jul 2018

 'Freedom to Choose'

 'Freedom to Grow'

 'HealTHCare for all

People sat and talked; some ate and smoked

Many had stories about how they needed cannabis to cope with medical conditions

A woman in a dress with cannabis leaves on it smokes for the photographers

Police tackle a man who rushed up and punched one of the protesters

The protesters say he is a man called Derek White. They say he comes from Dublin and sells people

fake cannabis oils and has been exposed on the web forum for the group

Many of those in the group grow their own cannabis and have a lot of shared information about the different

varieties of the herb and their medical uses. But they have particular scorn for people who sell fake cannabis

products - as they allege this assailant does. They are very pleased to see the police take him away.

The people who grow it for their own use also often give free to medical users who cannot grow their own

A police officer talks with the man who was punched and says they will come back to take a statement

People who want growing cannabis for personal use to be legalised are seen as a threat, both by drug dealers and also the commercial firms who are

or would like to be making a fortune from legal supply for medical or leisure use.
