Shrewsbury Tumulus - a Bronze Age monument. There were seven in the
area a hundred years ago, all but this
built on in the 1930s. It is a scheduled ancient monument.
Mayplace Lane was probably the continuation of the ancient road to
a ferry at Woolwich
At points you get a good view - or would if the air was clear. The
green roofs are on the lifts added to the Barnfield council estate
