Some had spent a long day on the picket line
But there was still plenty of energy left
and people danced to the music
and made a lot of noise.
The rally took place outside the Stewart House entrance to the offices
which include the Senate House
where many of the strikers work, though some were from nearby halls
of residence and other central university
sites run by the University rather than the constituent universities.
Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell came to support the strikers
and promised that a Labour government would take action to stop crooked
employment practices like zero hours contracts
and bring in trade union laws that worked for trade unions and workers
rather than against them.
A woman from the UCU at Goldsmiths brings support and a large donation
to the strike fund
Billy Bragg comes to give his support and play at the rally
And ends with a show of solidarity - stick together and we will win!
