Many feel that Stop The War lost its way over Syria, failing to support
the opposition to Bashar al-Assad, a cruel dictatator
who has killed many thousands of Syrians, following in the footsteps of
his father Hafez, president from 1971 to 2000.
The war in Syria has so far killed around 400,000, permanently injured 1.5
million, including 86,000 who have lost limbs.
At least 6.1 million Syrians are internally displaced, while another 5.6 million have fled abroad, mainly to Turkey.
