Land Day protest against supporters of Israeli state
Oxford St, London. Sat 31 Mar 2018
Campaigners stood in front of the main entrance to Marks & Spencer
on Oxford St
They collected petition signatures and handed out leaflets
THe Revolutionary Communist Group, RCG, held regular pictures here
for years and were often attacked by Jewish thugs
'Jerusalem is the Capital of Palestine'
'Free All Palestinian Political Prisoners'
Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network
There were speeches from an 'open mike' with anyone with progressive
views invited to speak
A campaigner talks about the failure of Kensington & Chelsea to
care for and rehouse those made homeless
by the Grenfell fire, urging people to come and join the silent marches
every 14th of the month. These now start
from Kensington Town Hall at around 17.30.
A campaigner speaks about Palestine in front of the banner 'Zionism
is Racism - Free Palestine'
Campaigners pose for a group picture before leaving to protest outside
other shops which support Israel
on their 'rolling picket' down Oxford St.
On previous occasions they have been opposed by a small group of people,
some Jewish, carrying Israeli flags
Today I saw none of them, perhaps because it was Passover, though
I like to hope it was because they too
were appalled by the shooting with live ammunition at unarmed protesters
in Gaza which killed 17 and wounded over 750.
