 Friar Gate

 

 Entrance gate at site of Derby Black Friary, demolished in the 16th century and replaced by a house called 'The Friary' in 1730

 
     
 Derby Gas Light and Coke Co, 1889 and The Lord Nelson, 1891.

 Derby City Church, Curzon Street - Former Temperance Hall, now church. 1854, 1889 and C20.

 
     
 St Werburgh's Church - Sir Arthur Bloomfiel 1894. Michael Thomas Bass stutue - MP for Derby 1847-83 and funder of the Museum and Library

 Jacobean House, 1611

 Derby Library, 1879, R K Freeman

 has a rather foreign-lookng Gothic tower

 Mechanics Institution, 1881. The institution was founded in 1825 by Joseph Strutt and others

 Derby Post Office, James Williams 1870 (1874 & 1902 extensions)

 Derby Art Gallery, 1883

  

 

 Blacksmiths Yard

 I think this is the fifteenth century house discovered in Market Place and moved here

 
     
 Sadler Gate

 The Old Bell Hotel, built 1680, extended 1776 and the facade is mainly from 1928

 

 

 

 

 

 Guildhall Theatre, 1842

 St Peter's St - 1930, designed by Robert Lutyens, Sir Edwin Lutyens' son

 Inland Revenue and County Court, St Peter's Churchyard, 1895

 Former Central Primitive Methodist Chapel, Green Lane/St Peter's Churchyard 1878

 

 

Built for Boots the Chemist in 1912, with statues of prominent Derby people
