Free Ahed Tamimi
Trafalgar Square, London. Sat 23 Dec 2017
One of the protesters shouts back at two men who are trying to disrupt
the protest by shouting that
everything the protesters say is lies
The two trying to disrupt the protest tell the protesters that Palestine
will never be free and that Israel has offered peace
But are told that Israel has never been prepared to make a serious
offer of peace with justice.
The protesters try to argue, but are told they should "go home".
They live here now, this is their home
and their homes in Palestine were taken by Israel, so it seems a peculiarly
stupid and insensitive comment
Shocking though the behaviour of these two is, it does draw attention
to the protest taking place
Most people come and show support for the Palestinians, but one woman
comes to join the two men
and delivers a message of hate, before leaving.
Eventually police arrive and tell the two men that they should behave
themselves and suggest they leave
they won't go but they become rather less provocative
One of the protesters talks with police about the racist comments
he received
The pprotest continues, but I need to catch a train home.
