Protesters visit Grenfell councillors

North Kensington, London. Mon 27 Nov 2017

Camaigners meet outside Latimer Road station, close to Grenfell Tower, with another fine banner by Andrew Cooper

'Crazy Ball Head Out' - and wanted posters

A poster names the new Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea leader Elizabeth Campbell

and the former leader NIcholas Paget-Brown who she replaced

'Wanted Rock Feilding-Mellen - Criminal Charges Now'

Feilding-Mellen was responsible for the cost-cutting use of flammable tiles and failed to respond to residents

who pointed out the dangers of Grenfell Tower. Though built to suitable fire safety standards, the dangerous

modifications made under his management made it a fire hazard - and they also approved fire safety inspections

by a consultant they knew would allow them to get away with an unsafe building

The protesters march down Bramley Road to Councillor Rock Feilding-Mellen's address

but he moved out days after the fire and hasn't been seen in the area since. The property has been let by

agents - and its current residents have no connection with Cllr Feilding-Mellen

A man living in the house comes out and tells the protesters he has no connection with the missing councillor

but the place, a stone's throw from Grenfell Tower, has a significance which has outlasted Feilding-Mellens flight.

The marchers reach the street where Cllr David Lindsay

He represents Norland Ward, but lives closer to Grenfell Tower.

Several people speak at the rally

and Cllr Lindsay comes out and tries to answer the protesters' questions

but gets into some angry arguments

The protesters march down to Portland Road

where they stop outside the home of another councillor who doesn't appear. All RKBC councillors now have their

address as the Town Hall on the web site, presumably to protect them from such protests.

and the protesters march off - and I go home
