LSE against Homophobia

London School of Economics. Mon 6 Nov 2017

The protest was just starting and there were people with banners at both entrances to the yard in front of the

New Academic Building were a talk "LGBT Rights: what next?" was to start in half and hour

The samba band had arrived and were getting ready to play

Everyone was standing on the pavement in front of the LSE property

except for a few people who were resisting efforts by LSE security to move them off LSE property

But as soon as the SOAS Unison banner was raised, LSE security came

and pushed them into the road

 A noisy protest began

calling for Justice for Daneil, an LSE cleaner subjected to homophobic bullying, about which both the employer

and the LSE had failed to take effective action. Daniel has even been threatened with disciplinary action for

making complaints. Henry from the IWGB had come with some members to show solidarity

A blue smoke flare was thrown towards the LSE building, and was kicked back by security

but acted as a signal for all the protesters to move onto the LSE yard in front of the building, and LSE security

was unable to stop them, and retreated to guard the doors

while the noisy protest continued on the yard

Some made a rush for the door, but security managed to hold them back

The protesters marched around to protest on the KIngsway side of the building

 'Stop Homophobia!' 'Justice For Daniel'

'LSE is Complicit in Homophobia' ''L$E - The London School of Exploitation'

'Not the Dirt They Clean - LSE Cleaners Demand Justice!'

The they marched to the main LSE entrance in Houghton St

They were then going back to make more noise outside the lecture, but I decided I'd done enough and left for home
