Stop Killing Londoners road block

Marylebone Road, London. Fri 2 Dec 2017

The protesters get ready to cross the road opposite Marylebone Church

and then move onto the west-bound carriageway to repeat the protest

They hold hte banner so that the traffice stopped can read it, and their message

but a man in a white van tries to drive through the protesters

and then throws water over them

The protesters rest against the bonnet of the van

while others dance to the disco music

This is one of the most polluted streets in London the poster says - and tells them the protest will be short

a motorcyclist refused to stop and rides through the middle of the dancers

and a taxi driver gets out and shouts at them

They tell him that pollution, mainly from traffic, is causing thousands of early deaths each year

and that drivers like him are among those most affected - and shoul dbe backing their campaign, not objecting

at the minor inconvenience it is causing him.

Government and the London Mayor are refusing to take effective action, ignoring the need to stop the thousands

of early deaths each year. Only a mass campaign of direct action seems likely to get action here to cut the traffic.
