 Gilded figures on the Town Hall, by W. H. Crossland, 1871 cost£160,000. Alfred Waterhouse designed a newtower after a fire in 1883

 unfortunately we didn't have time for a tour of the building

  

 

 Touchstones Rochdale built as a library in 1884,extended 1903 and 1912 as Museum and Art Gallery. Victory crowning Arts and Crafts.
