One of the group starts to write on the wall of Old Building
He intends to write 'END INEQUALITY AT THE LSE'
but is only just starting the third letter when a security man rushes up
and grabs his arm
there is a brief struggle
and then police arrive and arrest him - as he had planned
He tells them he has an injured shoulder and needs to be handled carefully,
and they handcuff him as
requested in front rather than behind his back
The other protesters have joined him and continue the protest as police
take him away
The protesters had deliberately wanted the police to make an arrest
as they feel it will embarass the LSE
management. They also think it unlikely that there will be any convictions
as the spray chalk used is designed
to wipe off with a damp cloth, making the LSE's charge of 'criminal
damage' a laughing stock.
