A Walk in the Olympic Park

Stratford, London. Mon 31 Oct 2016

 The Olympic Swimming Pool

is beside the Waterworks River. Mid-afternoon on a weekday and the walkway is empty

There are just a handful of people at the upper level. But a few tubs doesn't make it look like a park

I go down to the lower level again, and walk north beside the Waterworks River

There are more some trees on the other side of the river, and large swans here

From the next bridge there is not a person in view (there were a few workmen out of picture at right)

Across the river it begins to look more like a park but is still almost deserted

Road and rail bridges cross the Old River Lea

From where Carpenters Lock used to be is a good view of the stadium

though the sun just to the right of the frame makes it hard to photograph

Carpenters Lock was supposed to be replaced, but so far this hasn't happened

The 'Seb Coe' bridge is back, though without the graffiti which gave it its name
