Heathrow flashmob against airport expansion

Heathrow, London. Sat1 Oct 2016

We had got our orders at Hatton Cross and made our way on the bus to Termiinal 2, where we mingled with

regular passengers and made our way up to the Departures lounge

I had arrived early and took a few minutes to look at the view and photograph the huge sculpture

 which was impressive in size.

Inside the lounge we had been told to wait between areas B and C for the signal with red handkerchiefs

for the protest to start at 13.30 hrs. Some people looked more like travellers than others, though some protesters

had bought luggage. I felt a little conspicuous with only a large black camera bag

The signal came and people rushed into the area to lie down with their luggage

Airport security mainly stat and watched, with some making their way to seal off the way to the security area

A few people opened jackets to reveal 'No Third Runway' t-shirts

While others stood with aprons and the message 'Climate Change Has A Death Toll' and some people began to loudly read out information

about the effects on climate of air travel

A few protesters had come with posters
