Thorpe Walk

Thorpe, Surrey. Mon Oct 13 2014

It looks as if this is a fairly old pit and there is a long narrow island in the middle

Quite a few willows growing alongside it

Although it was mid-October, leaves were only just beginning to change colour

You can just see a lorry on the M25 in the distance

though you could hear the traffic all the time

We were now walking on a narrow strip of land between the lake and a stream

We came to a bridge with two long narrow planks, which bent and wobbled as I walked across. I almost fainted
and fell in but just managed to make it to the other side.

lengths of cable by the lake

Coming into the centre of Thorpe we went past an old farmyard with wooden barns

and a surprisingly utilitarian substation

Before reaching the pub. Despite appearances the food wasn't bad, though as you might expect here a little more
expensive than your average pub. Nice chips though. We would probably have walked a little more around
Thorpe, but the rain came on a bit while we were in the pub so we went home.
