Red Roofs at Oldfields on Guards Club Road Thames Riviera Hotel next to Maidenhead Bridge Boathouse at Oldfields Maidenhead Bridge Maidenhead Rowing Club A front garden to the rive on River Road Maidenhead Railway Bridge - an incredible brick structure with a sensational echo. It was hard to drag ourselves away Isambard Kingdom Brunel - completed 1838, widened 1891-2 - The Sounding Arch. Also Grade 1 listed now. The island in the Thames and the land to the south of it are a public park, with a fine footbridge (just visible) but we didn't have time to go across and explore it. |

Houses her have private lawns by the Thames And some have boats moored This is Ship of Fools III A footpath led to some fields and more fields and a farm with buildings that seemed to be disused It was clouding over as we made our way back Walking a little beside the Jubilee River (Datchet, Old Windsor & Staines etc Flooding Scheme). It was still a mile or so back to the pub and a rather tasty main course with a couple of pints of beer. |
