Devon/Dorset Holiday

Rousdon to Lyme Regis, 12 Jul 2014

Rousdon Estate - self-catering holiday homes

A private road leads down to the South West Coast Path, where we found a notice of closure - but we were going the other way

Charton Goyle

The coast path

The undercliff is a jungle and the path goes up and down with many steps and turns and just the occasional

glimpse of the sea, mainly through branches. There is a path leading down to the beach, but the beach is

private, part of the Rousdon Estate.

It is a very tiring walk, with so much going up and down

There are occasional glimpses of the cliiffs above as well

and sometimes the sun penetrated the dense cover

This concrete block was perhaps a boundary marker

There were quite a few fallen trees, but the path is obviously kept clear, and the many steps well kept

We came across some ruins a short distance from the path
