Derbyshire

Castleton etc. Fri 9 - Sat 10 May 2014

Taken through the bus window these show the views at Monsal Head

And a little further on, still through the bus window

In Castelton we walked along a road out of the village

and then along a track. The village is largely hidden by trees but the castle stands out on the hill above, and the

deep cleft at right which contains one of the Blue John mines for which the area is famous

Dramatic sunlight on the cement works

The next day we took a footpath leading out from Castleton leading towards Mam Tor

There had been a lot of rain and the grass was really very green - if not quite as green as Fuji makes it

and in places the path was quite muddy
