Fellow Students Fight for Yashika

Parliament Square, London. Sat 29 Mar 2014

Sixth formers from Oasis Academy came with some staff to protest in Parliament Square

Yashika was in Yarl's Wood waiting to be flown to Mauritius.

 We ♥ Yaskhika

'Bring Yashika Home! #Fight for Yashika'

A few days after this protest she was deported to Mauritius, despite a petition with over 170,000 signatures

calling on her to be allowed to stay to take her A levels.

Yashika's case isn't unique, but the support for her from her school and the students was.

Others get deported without there being a great deal of publicity.

It wouldn't happen in a civilised country or one with a government that cared about people.
