No More 'Benefits Street' Channel 4

Channel 4, Victoria, London. Mon 20 Jan 2014

Rev Paul Nicolson and two other protesters

Security tell a man sitting on the railings leading to the Channel 4 offices he is on private property he must move

He ignores them and others come to join him

Protesters discuss what to do. A couple went home

But some of those remaining decided to try and get inside the building and try to talk to someone about the programme

They ignored the security and walked up to the entrance

But found it was locked. Channel 4 phoned the police for assistance at this point.

and no one would come out and talk to them

After a few minutes they decided to walk away

By the time the police arrived 10 minutes later everyone had left Channel 4 property - and more had gone home

Nobody wanted to talk to the police

who eventualy went back to their police car

The remaining protesters stood chatting outside Channel 4

and it was obviously time for us all to go home. I'd just left and walked a few yards to the bus stop when

a couple of police vans sped up, sirens wailing.
The few remaining protesters who were in any case about to leave walked away.
