Walks around Staines

Staines to Old Windsor. 24-28 Dec 2013

We walked along the Causeway in case there was flooding on the tow path. The offices at left are on part of the gasworks site. Water company at right

There is still a gas holder, but it has little or no gas in it

We walked along the Egham bypass and then up Coopers Hill Lane

  and into the woods

passing just behind the Magna Carta memorial

We passed a couple of people going to or from the Occupy camp at the top of the hill but didn't have time to pay a visit

I climbed over a fence to get to America, the others walked up the field to the gate, so I had time to take pictures

before they arrived. We went down the steps to the very wet meadow and walked across to the main road

by the lodges at the west end, and walked by the river to the Bells of Ousely, where the riverside path
was flooded and we walked along by the Straight Road to our lunch.
