Aurora tells Shell - Stop Arctic Drilling

Waterloo, London. Sun 15 Oct 2013

There were a few people with snowflakes on their cheeks and bear masks or face paint, but no giant polar bear

at the meeting point. And noone knew or would say where it was, There was a group of cyclists by the south end of the bridge who didn't know either

and were getting briefed on their role for the rest of the action

Finaly we followed some stewards to the bear's lair, in a yard next to the railway, where final preparations

 were still being made

Finally the two teams began to haul Aurora onto the street

but it was a tricky job to clear the lamposts and other street clutter

but finally Aurora was on the road

I'd found a high viewpoint to photograph from

but diouble-decker buses got in the way at just the wrong time and I had to move on

Then I joined the procession behind the giant polar bear
