Roma Genocide Commemorated

Hyde Park, London. Fri 2 Aug 2013

 

 
 The Porajmos (great devouring), killing the final inhabitants of the gypsy family camp' at Auschwitz-Birkenau took place on 2 Aug 1944.

  Altogether around 20,000 Roma and Sinti were killed in Auschwitz
 
   

 

 

 

 

Professor Rainer Schulze spoke in some detail about the way Sinti and Roma were treated by the Nazis,

and of the fight they put up even as they were being forced into the gas chambers.
