Tamils protest Sri Lankan Genocide

Hyde Park to Waterloo Place, London. Sat 18 May 2013

 
 
 I caught up with the front of the march as it passed St James Piccadilly

'Our Leader'  Thiruvenkadam Velupillai Prabhakaran, leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam
(the LTTE or the Tamil Tigers) was killed fighting the Sri Lankan army on May 18, 2009

 

 

 

 One of the few Tamil Democrat flags in the traditional colours of Tamil Eelam. Most preferred the Tiger flag

 

  Many protesters wore masks showing the face of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakshe with fangs and horns
 
'Prosecute the War Criminals of Sri Lanka' 

The Tiger Flag was adopted as the National flag of Tamil Eelam in 1990, and was used by the LTTE (Tamil Tigers)
