Medmenham Walk

Medmenham, nr Marlow, Bucks. Monday 19 March 2012

River Thames - downstream view from Medmenham ferry. But no ferry

The ater Research Association (WRA) moved here in 1961, was privatised as WRc in 1989, and the

remaining activities here moved to new labs in Reading in 2006 leaving the site derelict.

Lodge Farm on the hilltop above the village

We saw several Red Kites but I didn't have a long enough lens to get a decent picture

St Peter's Church again

and outside it a village sign. It may get it's name from a Saxon leader who came up the Thames in a boat.

Another sign on the Dog & Badger

The doors to the road are not used - you get in from the car park which has a view of the church tower

But I didn't stay looking at it for long
