Thames Path

Cholsey - Wallingford - Benson - Shillingford. Saturday 3 April 2010

St Mary's Green, Wallingford

William Angier & his sister Mary built and endowed a 'hospital' for six poor people in 1681 and Francis Bunting gave it £1000 in 1880

Back on the Thames Path. This ditch was the channel leading to the Wharf by the mill

  Wallingford Rowing Club

War Memorial in the town centre (another detour from the path)

Bridge St

Back on the Thames path we got a view of Wallingford bridge

At Benson we crossed the river by a footbridge over the weir

and I honestly didn't notice the sign that said 'autorised persons only' when I walked through the open gate onto this grass

where I got a view of the weir

but the Thames path continues over this bridge
