North Woolwich

North Woolwich, London. Tue 26 Feb 2019

The Captial Ring continues on beside the river around the edge of the Gallions Point estate

The river edge is now a nature reserve

 The entrance to Albert Dock

The footpath leads across the outer lock gate

There are three gates, perhaps so a shorter lock could be used with smaller vessels

The footpath goes across the lock gates

Under the bridge carrying Woolwich Manor Way you can see a plane on the runway at London City Airport

I walked across the lock gates

 and to the other side

You can take a foot path going towards the Thames or another away from it here

But I didn't have time to go any further , and made my way back across the lock gates

and along a footpath to Woolwich Manor Way.

Parts of the path were quite overgrown and obviously it wasn't much used.

Albert Dock. I walked back towards the station

past the landward end of Barge House Road. I went down Woodman St opposite

The Royal Oak pub is very closed. Truman's beers were brewed at the Black Eagle Brewery on Brick Lane, .

once the largest brewery in the world. Closed in 1989, now an arts and events centre. A new Truman's opened in 2010
