Members of the London branch of the Bangladeshi Nationalist Party
(BNP) were protesting opposite Downing St
calling on Theresa May to pressure the Bangladesh government to release
the BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia
imprisone on what they claim are politically motivated false charges
of corruption to prevent her standing
in the elections later this year. They also want other leading members
of the party who have also been
jailed to be released.
Theresa May's mind is likely to be on other things at the moment,
and is also likely to think that both the
BNP and the Awami league who are currently in government are equally
corrupt.
