Peckham Jobcentre - why penalise jobseekers?

Peckham Rd, London. Fri 30 May 2014

The protesters start to set up on the pavement outside the Jobcentre Plus

 andput up a table

and start telling everyone on the street why they are here

Peckham job centre takes benefits away from people twice as often as other job centres

and they are asking why this is

They have a large letter asking for an explanation

They spread out posters and a banner on the pavement - with a few posters taped to the wall of the jobcentre

and hand out leaflets to people passing by

as well as selling copies of their newspaper, 'Fight Racism Fight Imperialism'

People passing look at the posters

and some stop to sign the petition

or take the leaflets, including one which sets outs peoples rights during immigration raids - you can simply leave
