Stratford Marsh - Hackney Wick (2012 Olympic Site)

London. Thursday 13 December

Bridge over City Mill River seen through fence

The small brick shed - I think an electricity substation - is the remains of the Marshgate Centre

And there is still a small building on Marshgate Lane

Which may also be connected to electricity supply.

Looking NW up Marshgate Lane - the piles of earth are where the Pudding Mill River ran (perhaps the ditch at bottom left), with some splendid willow trees. The buildings beyond - including the former Queen Mary College Engineering Faculty, have all gone.

Former Banner Chemicals site, and, across the City Mill River, marked by a line of bushes, large piles on the former railway yard site.

I've often photographed from this platform, but the view is rather different now.

Another view towards Canary Wharf, past tower blocks in Bow.
