Brasilia, Capital of Brazil

18-20 December, 2007

Palacio do Itamaraty houses the Foreign Ministry. Like most of the public buildings its architect was Oscar Niemeyer

Congress. The left dome and tower is the senate, the right the house of representatives - Oscar Niemeyer

Looking out from the black hall of the Congress towards a heated discussion

Left: The 'H' shape of Congresses twin towers. No buidlings can be made taller than these in Brasilia. The roof is now closed for 'security' but the congress is still very open - we just walked in for a tour of the lower house - you can also tour the senate at weekends. Right: Palácio da Justiça, housing the 'Home Office'. Oscar Niemeyer
